Haringey Support Services
Haringey Stop Smoking Service.
The programme provides information and support for Haringey adult residents who want to cut down or quit smoking for good. It is delivered by One You Haringey, as part of Haringey GP Federation, as well as designated local pharmacies. In addition, seven of the borough’s GP practices operate smoking cessation support for their patients.
The programme works with priority populations in the borough who are known to have high smoking prevalence i.e. adult Haringey residents and/or those work in Haringey who are identified as “current smoker” and want to cut down or quit smoking.
Support consists of:
- A 12-week guided support programme from One You Haringey offering one to one support (face to face, telephone, online) with a trained smoking cessation advisor.
- Advisors who are trained to deliver Level 2 and Level 3 services, in keeping with national standards and competences, set out by the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT).
- A variety of Nicotine Replacement Theory (NRT) this will include E Cigarettes as quitting aid.
- Specialist module – Smoking in pregnancy advice and CO-monitoring training for midwives.
- Smoking cessation training to staff across different workforces in Haringey in line with the National centre for Smoking Cessation and Training.
