Kingston Upon Thames Support Services
Kingston upon Thames provides the following;
- Six weeks of 1-1 telephone support and 6 weeks supply of single NRT/vapes.
- Anyone 12+ who lives, works, or studies in the borough of Kingston. Smoking in pregnancy service offered. A complex needs nurse delivers the programme with Kingston Wellbeing Service (service users only).
- Self-referral and referrals accepted from all smokers. Referrals also accepted from all health professionals. Pregnant smokers can be referred into our Smoking in Pregnancy service at Kingston Hospital. - Six 1-1 telephone sessions with a stop smoking advisor as well as 6 weeks supply of either single NRT or vapes, or prescription medication (when available). Patients are encouraged to self-purchase NRT/vapes after the 6-week period.
- Support lasts for 6 weeks, can be referred into the service again if unsuccessful.
- Some GPs and pharmacies in the borough offer the service (clients can be channelled there during triage)
- Support is currently available over telephone, with no plans to resume face-to-face support. Online sessions are available on request.
